Cassie Raine is an actress working in theatre, television and film. She is currently in rehearsals for "If I Walk Through Here..." a site specific play for Aorta Theatre.
In February 2008 Cassie left the UK to work in film and theatre in Malawi for NGO Theatre for a Change. Using a theatrical methodolgy, based on the theatre of Augusto Boal they work with teachers, young people and sex workers to reduce the risk of HIV infection. Through a series of improvistions and performances participants learn how to assert their gender and sexual rights, say 'no' to sex and negotiate for condom use. Cassie Raine is currently setting up an online video exchange project between teachers training in Scotland and Malawi, focussing on sexual health issues facing young people today.
